Georgia Dental Continuing Education Requirements

Dentists - Forty (40) hours of continuing education credit are required every two (2) years. As a requirement for license renewal, dentists must furnish satisfactory evidence of certification in one and two rescuer CPR and management of obstructed airway for adult, child and infant; as taught by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. At least thirty (30) hours of the minimum requirement must be in clinical courses in the actual delivery of dental services to the patient or to the community.
 

Hygienists - Twenty (22) hours of continuing education credit are required every two (2) years. As a requirement for license renewal, dental hygienists must furnish satisfactory evidence of certification in one and two rescuer CPR and management of obstructed airway for adult, child and infant; as taught by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. At least fifteen (15) hours of the minimum requirement must be in clinical courses in the actual delivery of dental services to the patient or to the community.
